The Association of Early Childhood Educators of Alberta (AECEA) regrets to advise that due to concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with health guidance from the Alberta government and public health authorities, we have decided to cancel the AECEA conference, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
At this time, the 2020 conference will not be rescheduled and we will look forward to our 2021 conference next year and hope to see you there. In the meantime, please sign up for AECEA’s mailing list or consider becoming a member to keep up with AECEA’s sector updates, leadership opportunities and learning events.
Due to event cancellations, we are able to reopen our professional development (PD) funding application form for Child Development Supervisors (CDS). Further information on funding requirements for the 2019-2020 fiscal year can be found at https://aecea.ca/pd-funding-fact-sheet-2019-2020-0. Please note, the current fiscal year ends on March 31.
As a reminder, starting April 1, 2020, the Child Development Supervisor Professional Development funding will be administered by Alberta Children’s Services. The funding amounts will remain the same, only the process to apply will differ. The updated Alberta Child Care Grant Funding Guide outlines the steps needed in order to obtain professional development and wage top-up funding.
