CCCF Announcement - Communications and Stakeholder Support in Alberta

The Canadian Child Care Federation is pleased to announce Krista Carter has been hired for the new position of Alberta Stakeholder and Communications Coordinator. Thanks to the generous funding support from the Edmonton Community Foundation and Muttart Foundation, Krista has been contracted to raise the agenda on the importance of ELCC for Alberta’s children, families and the economy and to mobilize evidence-based solutions through strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.

During this critical time of COVID-19, Krista is looking forward to working with, connecting and establishing a committee of Alberta stakeholders, including the CCCF, to focus on evidence-based solutions for moving forward on the reconstruction and re-imagining of a more robust quality child care system and sector for Alberta.
The scope of work will include enhancing communication among early learning and child care organizations and operators on the conditions, regulations, rules, and challenges arising in response to the COVID-19 crisis:

  • Helping early learning and care organizations and operators develop solutions to challenges related to sustaining operations during the COVID-19 crisis and to reopening their facilities in the future;
  • Articulating, coordinating, and communicating the issues, needs, and potential solutions related to early learning and care to government agencies, other parties, and the public;
  • Helping organizations and operators frame and address the long-term needs of early learning and care in Alberta that need to be addressed during and after the COVID-19 crisis.

Krista is from Calgary, AB and previously was with the First 2000 Days Network as an Early Childhood Community and Systems Connector and continues as an Education Consultant and Facilitator with her own consulting firm, L3 Solutions Inc. Partners in Life, Long, Learning.
