Today’s teachers and other school professionals are faced with tremendous demands on their time and energy, and this often leads to compassion fatigue and burnout. School professionals care for their students every day, but often forget to care for themselves. Many school professionals are the first responders to student’s struggling with mental health and addiction concerns. Self-care enables you to be an effective caregiver, and helps you to model good balance and healthy boundaries to your students and colleagues.
In this 2.5 hour course:
- Learn why self-care is crucial to your well-being and the well-being of your students
- Recognize signs and symptoms of stress and burnout
- Reflect on your own self-care strategies and explore the benefit of mindfulness techniques
