PD FUNDING APPLICATION FORM
Child Development Supervisor
The intent of this professional development funding is to assist a Child Development Supervisor (CDS) in attending approved post-secondary courses, conferences, workshops, and professional learning communities to build or strengthen their skills and knowledge in areas such as management, leadership, pedagogical leadership, administration, and child development. The intent is to enhance the quality of child care programs and ensure stronger oversight and accountability for adherence to Provincial Family Day Home Standards and legislated requirements for licensed child care in Alberta.
Please be advised, our funding for professional learning communities (PLC's) has been fully depleted, no further applications can be approved under that funding stream
Individuals with a valid Child Development Supervisor certificate issued by the Alberta Child Care Certification office who are:
- working as a paid staff member or family child care consultant/coordinator in a licensed child care program or contracted family day home agency in Alberta; and
- working a minimum of 80 hours a month in a licensed child care program or family day home agency; or 40 hours each month in a licensed out-of-school care program.
Unfortunately, CDS Day home providers and preschool educators do not qualify for this grant.

1) workshop and conference applications can be submitted a maximum of two months in advance of the conference/workshop start date; 2) post-secondary course applications can be submitted a maximum of four months in advance of the course/program start; and 3) applications must be received prior to the event start date in order for them to be considered.
