Some young readers gain reading skills with minimal difficulty; others struggle to acquire those same basic literacy skills. The difficulties some students experience are often unexpected and leave parents confused about the cause of the problem. Sometimes problems with learning to read may be early signs of a learning disability or disorder in reading. This session, designed for parents and caregivers, will provide insight about the early signs of a learning disability or disorder in reading, and what parents can do to help their child.
