Kathryn brings over 25 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, with a career spanning roles as a day home operator, preschool teacher, family support worker, and program leadership. She is currently working as a Child Development Consultant with Davar Child Care Society in Calgary, where she partners with family day home educators and families to support quality care, responsive practice, and meaningful relationships.

She holds an Early Childhood Education Diploma from Mount Royal University, along with Certificates in Human Resource Management and Professional Management from the University of Calgary. Kathryn is currently working toward her Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation.

Kathryn is a dedicated lifelong learner who approaches her work through a reflective, relationship-based lens. Her professional learning includes the Brain Story Certification, Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework, the ELECT program through Rupertsland Institute, and additional training in infant mental health, conflict resolution, and Indigenous perspectives. She is particularly interested in the intersections of resilience, identity, and inclusive practice within early childhood environments.

As a Métis educator living and learning in Calgary, Kathryn values collaboration across the sector and is committed to supporting educators in ways that honour diverse ways of knowing and being. She is passionate about advancing the profession and strengthening early learning communities across Alberta.
