We are excited to announce that the Flight Course Series has been approved for continued delivery through March 2028! With this exciting news, we are pleased to share that the Expression of Interest (EOI) is now open for educators interested in participating in the upcoming course delivery.
About the Flight Course Series
The Flight Course Series is an online, non-credit professional learning opportunity for educators and program administrators working in Alberta’s licensed and approved child care programs. The Flight Course Series includes three series: Noticing, Naming, and Nurturing.
Each series is a seven-week commitment and explores different concepts within Flight while remaining grounded in the framework as a whole. Throughout the series, you’ll be introduced to core concepts and the holistic play-based goals of Flight, with meaningful opportunities to connect those ideas directly to your everyday work with children.

Expression of Interest – Now Open!
Educators interested in participating in the upcoming Flight Course Series are invited to complete the Expression of Interest form.
To be eligible, educators must meet the following criteria:
- Work in a licensed and approved child care program (including day care, family day home, group family child care, out-of-school care, and preschool) within Alberta.
- Hold an Alberta early childhood educator certification (Level 1, 2, or 3).
- Have not previously completed the Flight course through MacEwan University or the full Flight Course Series through AECEA.
The Expression of Interest will remain open, and educators are welcome to submit their interest at any time.
Important note: If you submitted an EOI for the pilot, you only need to submit this form again if your employment or contact information has changed.
If you have already completed one or two series through the pilot program, you do not need to submit another EOI. AECEA will contact you by email when registration opens for the next series you are eligible to take.

The information you provide will be used to determine your eligibility to register. If your information changes, please complete the form again so we can accurately determine your eligibility.

When Will Registration Open?
If you are eligible, you will receive an email from info@aecea.ca at the start of each intake when registration opens for the series you are eligible to take. Registration will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and spaces are limited.
If you are unable to secure a seat, you can register during a future intake. Please add info@aecea.ca to your contact list to help prevent registration emails from going to your spam or junk folder.
