National Child Day

Convention on the Rights of the Child: For every child, every right.

On November 20th, 2024, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This year, the theme of #8MillionEmpowered amplifies the importance of defending children’s rights and ensuring all children thrive.

Alberta’s early childhood educators are an essential piece of ensuring all children in their care flourish and realize their full potential. We empower our youngest citizens to make a difference, now and in their future. We ensure that children are invited into decisions that affect them.

As article 12 states: Children have the right to give their opinions freely on issues that affect them. Adults should listen and take children seriously.

Alberta ECEs, what are you doing this National Child’s Day?
