A two-part series focused on belonging, meaningful participation, and responsive support. Inclusion is created through relationships, environments, and choices. In this two-part series, educators will explore how their beliefs about children influence experiences of belonging and participation. Educators will reflect on communication, behaviour, relationships, transitions, sensory experiences, family knowledge, and responsive environments. The sessions provide information and tools that can be used across different ages and child care settings.
Participants Will:
- reflect on how their image of the child, beliefs, and assumptions influence their practice
- recognize different ways children communicate and participate
- identify conditions within relationships, environments, routines, and expectations that support or limit participation
- observe and revisit the effect of changes made in practice
