Inclusive Child Care (ICC) is funded by Alberta Children’s Services and provides resources and supports to licensed Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) programs to successfully include children who have extra support needs.

This resource bank is intended to provide additional resources, strategies, and inspiration to create meaningful opportunities for all children to participate and engage in inclusive ELCC programs.

The ICC program provides a range of short-term, intensive resources and supports to licensed child care programs that include:

MindUp for Life! is an evidence-based program that is an easy to implement tool. MindUp helps educators support children to develop the mental fitness to build a happier, healthier and more balanced life. The MindUp Program teaches the strategies and skills you need to find optimism, build resilience and create solutions for life’s challenges.

Alberta Home Visitation Network Association (AHVNA) provides ECEs a MindUp training customized to educators working in Out of School care programs!

This 6-session training introduces you to the Kimochis® tools to support children in exploring and managing their feelings. This training will be valuable for early childhood educators as you support children through those big feelings. The training is free to ECEs that work with children ages 0-6 within licensed dayhomes and daycares in Alberta, who are members of AHVNA.

Introduction to Early and Infant Mental Health is a free online webinar series that “provides an overview of early development with a focus on infant mental health and factors that can support or hinder development. Theoretical models that can be used to understand behaviours and influencing factors will be explored and considered within the context of community programs that work with families and young children.”
