Workshop/Webinar

Introduction to Early and Infant Mental Health is a free online webinar series that “provides an overview of early development with a focus on infant mental health and factors that can support or hinder development. Theoretical models that can be used to understand behaviours and influencing factors will be explored and considered within the context of community programs that work with families and young children.”

Kids Have Stress Too!® (0-6 yrs) provides a comprehensive introduction to key aspects of early childhood and brain development, as well as the crucial role caregivers and educators play in helping children learn effective stress-management strategies. Designed to meet the needs of early childhood educators and kindergarten teachers, the program contains practice and curriculum-based strategies to help young children learn how to manage stress.

ECEs can access training and resources to support implementation of child development screening processes through the application of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire screening tools (ASQ:3 and ASQ:SE-2). Evidence shows that the earlier development is assessed – the greater the chance a child has to reach his or her potential. ECEs are in an optimal position to observe and guide responsive interactions and support relative to developmental outcomes identified in the screening process.
