This online course was created using a creative and thoughtful approach that involved an extensive review of the original CCCF Family Child Care Training resources as well as the development of new material.
This online professional development opportunity is for individuals who are considering starting a home child care, as well as for those who are already providers. Upon completion of the online course, CCCF will provide a professional development certificate of completion.
The 10 modules, 30-hour course may be completed at the participant’s own pace. The modules are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each module will take approximately 1.5 hours each to complete.
There are 10 Practical Modules covering topics including Health & Wellness, The business of family child care, Child Development, Guiding behaviour, Partnering with Families, Diversity and Inclusion in home child care
At the end of each module, participants will engage in self-reflective activities in CCCF’s online community of practice, CCCF’s private Family Child Care Provider Facebook group, to connect participants with peers. There is also a brief quiz at the end of each module. Upon completion of each module, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Please note, completion of this program does not qualify you for an early childhood educator certificate level from the Government of Alberta; it is available to supplement your knowledge.
